guidelines,
𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸𝘀, i’m becca (she / they) and i’m twenty - three years old, in the est timezone ! this here is a completely canon - divergent and headcanon - based
iteration of 𝗷𝗲𝗳𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, as featured in twd universes’ one - off comic “𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻”. ⸺⸺⸺this blog 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 jeff’s canon material.
i am 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 with damien's blog @hefights ⸺⸺& ⸺⸺would highly suggest following them for full fulfillment of jeff's story !
i am a selective, 𝗺𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 - 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗴 simply because this is not my main blog. unless otherwise specified, all memes, starter calls, and plotting calls are for mutuals only.
⸺⸺⸺if a you are a multimuse and don’t specify the muse you’d like for a starter, you will not get one.
⸺⸺⸺if memes are sent without specification on who they’re from, they will be deleted.my activity 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘁𝘆. my main blog is @sevynhells, if you can’t find me here or there, 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 is available to mutuals
!
⸺⸺⸺i love jeff grimes with all my heart and soul, i’ve been writing this s.o.b since august 2015, but his muse has become fickle, so i take what i can get.
⸺⸺ my other, much less active blogs can be found: @amarycan, @caerolina, @ductaped, @endfght, @jpoole, @sunruin,&@wonknot.if you’re going to unfollow me, i beg that you use the hard block feature so i don’t see your blog suggested to me and refollow thinking tumblr’s messed up
!it saves us both an uncomfortable interaction.my goal with this new blog is to get more developed and 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 - 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 with interactions. i am the type of person that gets the most muse for things that i talk about often ooc, so if you want to plot and develop a 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 between your muse and jeff, the best way to do that is to invade my ask and ims talking about them
!!as long as it’s established that we are shipping our characters, i can promise you that you will never be bothering me.
⸺⸺⸺i’m honestly trash that will ship almost anything. so, as long as there’s some sort of chemistry, i probably ship it!!i prefer to have 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 when is comes to writing partners, which couples again with me getting the most muse for things that i talk about often ooc. i never expect mutual exclusivity, and if you’re on the below list, it’s simply because jeff has developed some sort of attachment to your portrayal of your muse. if you want to be added / removed, just shoot me an im
!

𝗶 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀. my default for starters / asks is small text and 50 x 50 icons with occasional colored font, though i will often match the font size that my partner uses. if you ever need me to edit something so that it is easier to read for you, please let me know
!𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲
!!i don’t wanna ever see any of my writing partners apologizing for “late” replies in the tags . roleplaying is not a job, don’t treat it like one!never worry about how much time it takes to get a reply out, because i know that i am the human version of a sloth and can and will take months to reply to things. this has nothing to do with my interest in you or our thread, i just don’t understand the concept of time.everything on this blog, aside from the general character that is jeff grimes, 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. all icons, edits, and promos were, unless otherwise stated, made by or for me. the psd that i use is a mixture of this and this with some adjustments. i use a border from graphicsrp, but the link i previously had is no longer working.
⸺⸺⸺⸺⸺though jeff is not of my own personal creation, most if not all of the headcanons featured on this blog are. i’ve had jeff since before the release of his one - shot comic, and have developed essentially his entire life. please do not steal any information found on this blog.due to the 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀 / 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 of the walking dead, it is highly likely that many forms of nsfw will appear on this blog. including mostly depictions and descriptions of blood, gore, and general violence.
⸺⸺⸺while smut is not out of the question entirely, it will only be written with muns that i am 100% comfortable with ooc and are 21 or older. however, unless discussed beforehand, all sexual situations will fade to black.i try to tag every 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 that i can think of, but there may be some that i miss. if i ever post anything that is not tagged and you need it to be, please let me know asap

distinguishing features: a slight limp (that gets worse when he’s got to run or has been walking on it for too long) in his left leg.
tattoos:
⸺⸺⸺⸺ the first one he got at only seventeen with his best friend. it’s a fireman’s emblem, just two axes crossed one over the other situated behind a shield. there was a little bit of red and orange in the background to signify fire but it was done so lightly and poorly that it has since essentially faded completely. on his right bicep.
⸺⸺⸺⸺ the second was slightly bigger, after graduating his wanderlust took hold. though his mind had other reasons for leaving his hometown, he used this as an excuse. on his right calf he has a small outline of the united states, marked with different colored dots for all of the places he’s visited. a majority of the states surrounding georgia and north carolina are marked up, and most of the west coast is empty save for one in las vegas, another one in seattle and one in los angeles.
⸺⸺⸺⸺ the third, on his right side, close to his armpit, is the date that he and lucy were married in roman numerals. they got it matching. in some verses, smaller underneath is the date that she died.
⸺⸺⸺⸺ fourth was nicky’s ! just after he was born jeff got his footprints tattooed on his left inner - bicep, underneath it his full name “nicholas andrew grimes” and his date of birth. lucy also has one that is similar.
⸺⸺⸺⸺ the fifth is on the inside of his right wrist, and reads “family first”. he also got this after nick was born, after his eyes were truly opened to how important family really is to him.
piercings: he had his right ear done when he was in high school but took it out after a week.
⸻ grooming,
style: best described as comfortable, jeff usually only wears jeans and a t - shirt or sweater. when he’s working he wears special work pants. post - apocalypse he’ll wear whatever he can find, usually the same pair of ratty jeans that he cleans as often as possible.
grooming: he’s as well - kept as he can be. he keeps as clean as he can in all verses, but never really puts too much thought into how he looks.
posture: generally slouched, he only really stiffens his back when he’s threatened.
gait: depending on the situation. he’s usually slow and sluggish, not making too many quick movements if necessary. in a fight he’s pretty quick on his feet, fully capable of taking care of himself.
coordination: his reflexes are pretty average, and he doesn’t get caught up on his own feet too often. though he has a habit of tripping over nothing.
habits and mannerisms: scratching at his jaw, talking too much, picking at / biting the skin around his fingernails. clearing his throat in awkward silences.
scent: he used to smell like metal and sweat, oil and grease. now he smells like fire and wood and dirt and, depending on how long it’s been since his last shower, he doesn’t smell good.
⸻ personal items,
wardrobe: his wardrobe is fairly casual and almost always comfortable. jeans or thicker work pants to work and usually just a t-shirt (or button up, depending on where he’s working) with work boots. whatever he can find in the apocalypse.
equipment: his weapon of choice is an old fire axe that he found relatively close to the beginning of the apocalypse. he also carries around a large hunting knife and a multitool.
trinkets: it may not work anymore, but jeff carries around a pocket watch that lucy got for him for their first anniversary. he didn’t wear it while she was alive, and primarily carries it out of guilt, and because it’s something he has to remind him of her.
⸻ education,
education: he graduated high school, and applied to a community college with intentions of attending, but took a gap year and never ended up going.
grade: he rarely applied himself much to schoolwork, so he was usually a "c" or "d" student. the only classes he ever had an a in was gym and shop.
social stereotype: troublemaker, outcast, class clown.
known languages: english, some spanish, barely a handful of sentences in french that are a distant memory at this point.
extracurricular activities: he tried out for baseball his freshman year at his father’s urging but didn’t make the team.
⸻ mood,
attitude: he’s different with each person he comes across. with most strangers in an apocalypse setting he can be standoffish, much more willing to fight than he is to call someone a friend.
expressiveness: when it comes to general happiness and anger, he does not hold back his emotions. though he does keep them more subtle when around strangers or people that he doesn’t trust. he has a tendency to keep how he’s feeling to himself, how he feels about situations that he’s put in, how he feels about things happening in his life. it’s a problem that often develops in relationships, because while he may not necessarily hide all of his feelings, he almost never talks about them.
when happy: smiling. jeff is already a generally laid - back and happy guy, so he almost always has even a small smile on his face.
when depressed: jeff has gotten far too good at repressing his emotions, so unless he outright tells you that he’s upset, it’ll probably be hard to tell. he hides pain behind humor, so that’s something to look out for.
when angry: it depends entirely on the situation, but jeff has no problem getting loud when he’s angry. he’s not a violent person in nature, and only escalates to physical fighting as a last resort.
⸻ quirks,
hobbies/interests: (What does your character like to do for fun?)
skills/talents: jeff is a primarily self - taught, licensed electrician. he apprenticed with an older man named sean o'toole when he was nineteen and got his license when he was twenty - one.
likes: (What does your character like?)
dislikes: (What can't they stand?)
sense of humor: dry, dark. he definitely has to watch himself around people that don’t know him. can be self - deprecating at times.
pet peeves: people chewing with their mouths open, incessant tapping on tables/countertops.
superstitions/beliefs: he's always subconsciously knocked on wood, & believes in bad omens.
quirks: the handful of times he's quit smoking, he took to chewing on anything he could get his hands on ― toothpicks, lollipop sticks, the ends of pens/pencils, you name it, jeff's teeth marks are probably on it somewhere.
savvy: he was an electrician, so he knows his way around wires and certain electronics. he’s very proud that he’s not a completely technically - oblivious dad.
closet hobby: as much as he enjoyed sports and other activities, jeff also enjoyed video games.
⸻ affiliations,
religion: raised catholic, though the most recent time he stepped foot in a church was his wedding. he believed even less in a god after the outbreak began.
morals: he likes to think that he has pretty standard morals, though the line between what he would and would not do often blurs when it comes to his family.
crime record: both from high school, he was charged with breaking and entering and vandalism.
motivation: in any verse where jeff has nick and lucy has died, his motivation for everything will always be his son. whether it be keeping a roof over his head or finding him in the apocalypse.
priorities: after meeting lucy and having nick, his family will always come first, there is literally nothing that he would not to do protect them.
etiquette: pre - apocalypse he was pretty well - trained. he was polite to strangers and old ladies and respected those that respected him. he keeps that in mind post - apocalypse, though he is ten times more wary around strangers. he’s still a decent human being, but he’s far quicker to mistrust and anger than friendliness.
superstitions: knocking on wood, not walking underneath ladders, broken mirrors = bad luck.
⸻ accomplishments,
career: when he was really little he wanted to be a firefighter so bad, a desire that continued through most of his life. when he was in middle school, he discovered his interest in architecture and decided he wanted to be an architect, but after learning he’d need to be decent at math, he dropped that dream.
greatest achievement: genuinely raising nick is his greatest achievement.
biggest failure: letting his childhood crush and ego get in between him and his brother.
secrets: (Everyone has at least one)
regrets: ties hand - in - hand to his biggest failure; jeff regrets so deeply letting his crush on lori cause a (one - sided) rift between him and his brother, and ultimarely, lori herself.
best memories: (A few stand out memories from the past. [keep it short and sweet])
worst memories: (A few stand out memories from the past. [keep it short and sweet])
⸻ fighting,
special skills: extremely good with his hands, taught himself next to everything he knows about working with his hands, this includes handiness skill level and hand - to - hand combat.
weaknesses: stubborn, short - tempered, ill - informed \ ignorant to a degree, vengeful, reckless.
strengths: loyal, quick on his feet, fast - thinker, headstrong, thoughtful, compassionate.
flaws: he cares too deeply. his willingness to do anything for those that he loves can very easily get him killed, as when it comes to making decisions, he’s an “act first, think later” type of person.
perception: he knows deep down that it’s a shitty place, but he does do his best to see the good in it.
instincts: the helpless, those that need saving. he doesn’t even necessarily see himself as a savior, he just has this unconscious desire to help people.
cruel streak: he has absolutely zero tolerance for abusers of any kind, and if he knows that someone is one he will not hesitate to show his distaste for them.
⸻ favorites,
colors: green, blue, orange.
animals: dogs, cats, anything fluffy and cute honestly.
flavors: chocolate, sour candies.

bands: the doors, the rolling stones, ac / dc, the ramones, pink floyd.
sports: baseball, football, hockey.
numbers: 23, 75.
⸻ vocals,
__accent__: southern, he strings a lot of words together and shortens words that don’t necessarily need to be shortened. jeff doesn’t always speak in “proper english”.
voice: deep, sort of gravely and hoarse from smoking on and off since he was sixteen. he’s a very vocal person, so his tone often shifts with his mood and what he’s saying.
speech impediments: while he doesn’t necessarily have the most prominent of accents, when he’s extremely angry or yelling, it comes out even more.
⸻ personality,
personality type: entp - t, the debater. 58% extroverted, 59% intuitive, 59% thinking, 90% prospecting, 60% turbulent.

biography,
born the second son to charles and amelia grimes, just over five years after the birth of his elder brother, rick.
verses,
⸻ one.
𝘫𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵. the beginning of the outbreak. jeff struggles to keep himself and his son safe and alive, all as they make their way from north carolina to georgia, to reunite themselves with the rest of their family. somewhere in between, a mess of smoke and fire separate father from son.
⸻ two.
𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮. before the apocalypse. jeff left home right after graduation and spent some time traveling the country before settling down around raleigh, north carolina. there he meets his to - be wife.
⸻ three.
𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘱. after jeff and nick have been split up, jeff is on his own. as time goes on, he tends to keep away from others, with the sole purpose of living being finding his son. this is also a general verse for jeff being on his own in the apocalypse.
⸻ four.
𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘱. jeff found the prison. he found his son and his brother and his nephew, but was too late when it came to ever seeing lori again. it takes time to acclimate himself to life with other people, with strangers, and with his family. to cope with the loss of his best friend and to come to the realization that his son was alive. jeff arrives some time after lori’s death, though before the final attack from the governor, and lasts until the prison falls.
⸻ five.
𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘦. soon after the prison fell, jeff came across terminus. it was early on, long before rick and the others arrived, and slowly he became a part of their community. most of his blind ignorance was in preparation: if nick and rick and everyone else had followed the signs that he had, they’d make it there. and when they did, it’d look better if they were vouched for by a trusted member of their people rather than an outcast. he got involved, and it wasn’t long before he gained rank as a watchman. he was ignorant to their food source, it’s only after rick’s arrival that jeff’s eyes are opened to the truth.
⸻ six.
𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘦. takes place in the time between terminus and the group meeting aaron.
⸻ seven.
𝘴𝘯𝘢𝘱 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵. general early alexandria verse. for almost the entirety of their first year at alexandria, jeff was wary. he knew that it had to be too good to be true, that they were living their lives sheltered from the truth, that something would happen to rip their safety net from them. it took time, of course, but eventually he’s able to relax and settle in. he keeps his own walls of defense up, though he does come to take advantage of the warmth and safety that alexandria provides.
⸻ eight.
𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭'𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬. savior. jeff was out on his own, cold and starving, unsure of whether or not his family was even alive. he’d been on his last leg, just about to give up, when he came across negan and his men. after time and persuasion, and the promise that jeff would pull his own weight if given the chance, they took him back to the sanctuary.
⸻ nine.
𝘪 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬. war arc. jeff was with rick and the others as negan killed their family brutally. he is filled with a mixture of anger and compliance. anger for the brothers murdered in cold blood, and compliance in fear of what may happen to more of his family should anyone speak out. eventually, his rage boils over.
⸻ ten.
𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥. ftwd. after graduation, jeff decided to travel the country. he’d been to almost every state in the united states, living in cheap motels when absolutely necessary, but mostly out of the back of his hunk of junk blue pickup. he’d made friends along the way, some enemies. a short stay in sunny california turned to what he’d thought was the rest of his life. an outbreak, the dead risen from their graves, and jeff was on the opposite side of the country from his family. try as he might, he can’t get back to them, and so he’s got to live out and survive with a group of strangers.
⸻ eleven.
𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘺. ftwd 2. jeff had saved up just enough money to get him and nick to disneyland. what was supposed to only be a week - long trip turned sour once the dead started attacking and eating the living. now they’re just trying to get back home to their family any way they can.
⸻ twelve.
𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘣𝘢𝘨. jeff grimes is living the best years of his life. in school he’s a class clown, acting out for attention. sports are not his thing, in fact, he’s not much into extracurricular activities at all.
⸻ thirteen.
𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴. pre - outbreak. after finding out lucy is sick. this verse contains any and all interactions that take place from the time that she is diagnosed until she passes away.
⸻ fourteen.
𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺. lucy never got pregnant, but that didn’t stop them from getting close ! jeff still frequented that bar, and he still flirted with her relentlessly, until she finally agreed to go on a date with him.
⸻ fifteen.
𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯. closed. jeff and nick grimes moved away from raleigh after the tragic passing of lucy in attempts to start over. now a single parent trying to raise a child, jeff decides he needs a babysitter to watch nick during the long hours he’d have to work to support them. with recommendations from coworkers, he gets letha’s name and immediately calls her.
⸻ sixteen.
𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯. stranger things. after the death of lucy, jeff and nick move to hawkins, indiana in attempts to move on and escape the memories of their old home.

camp outlook,
a safe haven for those in need.
a camp that jeff began at the beginning of the outbreak. it’s an abandoned sleepaway campsite with four cabins to sleep in, a main living / reception cabin (containing a mess hall, kitchen, and nurses quarters), a shower hall (half sectioned off into an armory), and two of its own personal wells. there was still a whole heap of food left over from when the camp was open, all sorts of canned goods and non-perishables, found in a small storm/storage cellar beneath the main cabin. it was a lot of work to clean everything up, but he persevered in hopes that something good would come from his labor, and in his opinion, it had. it was no easy feat, realistically getting everything up and running to a point that he was satisfied and felt comfortable letting people in took at least six months to a year.before he settled in he made sure to take down any and all road signs around the area. the campsite wasn’t on many maps that he knew of, and without signs pointing towards the dirt road, enough vegetation would be enough to completely cover the path for those who were not looking for it.jeff was there alone at first, working hard to gain a stockpile and reinforce what he could with what he had. the campsite was far off the beaten path, away from prying hands of other survivors. he only left it when he needed things that were not already there. he stocked up on whatever he could find, from medical supplies to more food and water: what he had was never enough. but it was not greed that kept him scavenging, it was the need to build this place up, to make it comfortable to live in after the world had gone to shit. he kept it to himself for a while, building upon this safe haven until he was ready to trust others, until he was ready to bring new people in.and it started slow. the first person he met while he was on one of his final supply runs into town; she hit him over the head with a bat and he took her back to his camp to take care of him. then there were three of them, she’d brought a new girl in, she was young, and they all looked after one another.the group has grown larger since then, all four cabins are filled to the brim and they are thriving. the soil was clear enough for them to begin a garden, and they’d hunted as much and as often as they possibly could. jeff is looked up to as their leader, but they all worked together to make their community the best that it could possibly be.it’s called camp outlook, at least that’s what the campgrounds were called before the outbreak. the grounds are high up in the woods, nestled in the trees and surrounded on one side by the edge of a very tall cliff. walkers don’t come by often, but when they do the reinforced fences surrounding the camp’s property line do their job at keeping them out.
